39 year old man, sentenced to five years imprisonment for defiling five-year-old girl.



A Magistrates’ Court in Benin on Wednesday sentenced Mr Saturday Udoh, 39, to five years imprisonment with an option of N80, 000 fine for defiling a five-year-old girl.
Delivering judgement, Chief Magistrate Mike Osayi held that the prosecution, led by Sergeant Shaibu Mohammed, proved its case of defilement against the convict as required by law.

Sallah: IG orders 24-hour security alert

Following security reports that the Islamic terror group, Boko Haram, was bent on disrupting the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations in various parts of the country, the Inspector-General of Police, Mr Mohammed Abubakar, has directed all zonal Assistant Inspectors General, AIGs, and state Commissioners of Police to provide water-tight security across the country before, during and after the celebrations.
The IGP gave the directive just as FCT Police Command disclosed, yesterday, that it was in possession of intelligence reports that trouble makers, including terrorists and criminal minded persons, were planning to carry out attacks in some unknown places in the federal capital territory but warned that its men were already on alert and primed for action in case of any eventuality.

An unidentified commercial motorcycle operator, popularly called Okada rider was allegedly killed in the early hours of yesterday, at Pen Cinema, Agege, area of Lagos State, when men of the Nigerian Police attached to the state’s security outfit, Rapid Response Squad, RRS, accosted the victim while he attempted to evade arrest.

Nigeria's Secret Police Says Arik Airplane Incident Caused By Mentally-Unstable Man Triggered Off By Aircraft Turbulence

Nigeria’s Department of State Services (DSS) has blamed today’s incident on an Arik Air flight from Maiduguri to Abuja on a mentally-unstable man whose “condition was triggered off” by turbulence.  
Social media reports had claimed a bombing threat on the flight.

Robbers Kill Three Cops, Raid Church House In Ogun - PREMIUM TIMES


Armed robbers attacked a Church House in Ogun State on Monday killing three cops who tried to prevent their escape.
The 15-man robbery gang invaded the Apostolic Church Mission House, Ijemo-Agbadu area of Abeokuta, the Ogun State Capital, at about 1.45a.m.
Three cops of the Ogun State Police Command, who engaged the robbers in a gun duel for about 45minutes, were killed; while two others were injured.
